Nice to see the detail. These are all long term buy and hold (with no firm expectations of a sale at some defined future time or event)? And why did you decide to go "All ETF"? Do you track the correlations between the ETFs? Have you done any kind of backtesting on a portfolio containing these classes?
1. In general, I view my holdings as long term buy and hold. I will sell them as needed to fund spending in retirement. I might note that I am more heavily in cash at the present moment than I hope to be longer term. I find myself in agreement with the concept that there are likely more shoes to drop before things get better in the markets long term and that we are a little overbought at this point.
2. In terms of all-ETF, one factor for me is simplicity, particularly if my wife were to outlast me and deal with the portfolio on her own or with the help of an advisor.
3. In terms of correlation and back testing, yes I have done some work in this area. At the same time, I try to balance this with what I believe about where we are at present.
